American artist known for his reproductions of banal objects such as balloon animals produced in stainless steel.\" width=\"591\" height=\"520\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ a-font-body-m     \"><a id=\"auto-tag_christies\" href=\"https:\/\/www.atelierauction.com\/globalupdates\/\" data-tag=\"christies\">Christie\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0auction of three dozen items from art collector and gallerist\u00a0<a id=\"auto-tag_adam-lindemann\" href=\"https:\/\/www.atelierauction.com\/globalupdates\/\" data-tag=\"adam-lindemann\">Adam Lindemann<\/a>\u00a0yielded nearly $31.5 million, with many items going well above their high estimates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ a-font-body-m     \">The evening sale on March 9 from the owner of the Venus Over Manhattan gallery included items by\u00a0<a id=\"auto-tag_jeff-koons\" href=\"https:\/\/www.atelierauction.com\/globalupdates\/\" data-tag=\"jeff-koons\">Jeff Koons<\/a>, Jim Nutt, Etel Adnan,\u00a0<a id=\"auto-tag_andy-warhol\" href=\"https:\/\/www.atelierauction.com\/globalupdates\/\" data-tag=\"andy-warhol\">Andy Warhol<\/a>, Karen Kilimnik and Jean Roy\u00e8re, as well as a 1974 Ducati motorcycle and\u00a0an NFT by the digital artist Beeple\u00a0of the singer Madonna.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ a-font-body-m     \">Lindemann\u2019s auction was considered notable because it wasn\u2019t held due for the traditional reasons of death, divorce or debt; it featured living artists; and prominently featured the name of the seller. Christie\u2019s even titled the sale \u201cADAM: Works from the Collection of Adam Lindemann\u201c.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ a-font-body-m     \">Some of the proceeds of the sale will go towards to the Metropolitan Museum of Art\u2019s\u00a0renovation of its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/AtelierAuctionsg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Michael C. Rockefeller wing,<\/a>\u00a0which includes works from sub-Saharan Africa, Oceania, and the ancient Americas. Lindemann is the head of the wing\u2019s steering committee and\u00a0declined to specify an exact number\u00a0in an interview with the\u00a0<em>New York Times<\/em>\u00a0beyond \u201cseven figures\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ a-font-body-m     \">\u201cI love African, Oceanic and pre-Columbian art.
